On December 30, 2015, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved the FCC’s new Emergency Alert System (EAS) reporting requirements. Based on this approval, the FCC’s June 2015 EAS Order is now in effect (see JSI’s July 7, 2015 e-Lert).
In June 2015, the FCC issued an order that requires all cable and video providers to register in the new electronic EAS Test Reporting System (ETRS) and report results of national EAS tests. Companies will need to register in the ETRS within 60 days of system availability (pending at this time). JSI will notify clients when the EAS test reporting system is available.
