Steve Meltzer Given NTCA’s 2017 Associate Member Award
NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association this week honored Steve Meltzer, JSI’s Senior Vice President, with its Associate Member Outstanding Achievement Award during the 2018 Rural Telecom Industry Meeting & EXPO in Austin, Texas. This annual award recognizes the outstanding personal and professional accomplishments of an associate member who, in conjunction with his/her NTCA membership, has performed extraordinary service for the benefit of the telecommunications industry. It is the highest honor given to an associate member by the organization.
NTCA presented Steve with the award for his decades of devotion to its members and the rural telecom industry. “Steve is a really familiar face to everyone,” NTCA Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield said during her presentation. “I know from personal experience that the entire industry has benefitted from his 40 years of experience.”
Steve’s coordination of toll cost studies and his assistance with FCC filings on important industry concerns, such as the Universal Service Fund, also were highlighted by NTCA during the presentation.
“I feel really privileged to be able to work with folks in rural America,” Steve said in accepting the award. “I do believe that rural America is the engine that drives the entire country.”
Steve also is a frequent speaker at both JSI and industry meetings, where he is always excited to share his knowledge and insight. He is a member of NECA’s Cost Issues Task Group and Rate Development Task Force and is an active participant in the Rural Association Group working on regulatory and settlement reform with the FCC. In addition, Steve serves on NTCA’s Industry & Regulatory Policy Committee and the Foundation for Rural Service Board, and was a member of the NTCA Associate Member Advisory Council.
Please join us in congratulating Steve on this award and thanking him for his four decades of devotion to rural America.
