Robocall Mitigation Plan Updates Due February 26, 2024
Robocall Mitigation Plan Updates Due February 26, 2024
The Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB) has announced the effective date for additional information to be added to the Robocall Mitigation Database and Robocall Mitigation Plans.
The updates must be submitted via the Robocall Mitigation Plan and the Robocall Mitigation Database Submission Form. The Robocall Mitigation Plan must meet the Commission’s robocall mitigation plan requirements which include, but are not limited to:
-
Certification stating:
-
All calls that originate on the company’s network are subject to a robocall mitigation program and the specific “reasonable steps” the company has taken to avoid the origination, carrying, or processing of illegal robocall traffic as part of its robocall mitigation program
-
Any prior certification has not been removed by Commission action and the company has not been prohibited from filing in the Robocall Mitigation Database
-
Whether the company has fully, partially, or not implemented STIR/SHAKEN on the IP portions of their network
-
-
A description of how the company complies with its obligation to know its customers and its upstream providers
-
Description of any call analytics systems the company uses to identify and block illegal traffic, including whether the company uses a third-party vendor or vendors and the name of the vendor(s).
-
A statement of the company’s commitment to respond to all traceback requests from the Commission, law enforcement, and the industry traceback consortium within 24 hours and to cooperate with such entities in investigating and stopping any illegal robocallers that use its service to originate calls.
The Robocall Mitigation Database Submission Form requires filers to submit specific, additional information via clearly labeled checkboxes, dropdown menus, and text fields. All required fields must be completed before a filing can be submitted.
JSI highly recommends clients review the updated robocall mitigation database guidelines prior to working on the required updates and submissions. For more information or assistance with your company’s Robocall Mitigation Plan and/or updates, contact Bridget Alexander White or call 301-459-7590.
