REMINDER: FCC Do-Not-Originate Blocking Requirements Take Effect December 15, 2025
REMINDER: FCC Do-Not-Originate Blocking Requirements Take Effect December 15, 2025
All voice service providers must comply with new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Do-Not-Originate (DNO) blocking requirements by December 15, 2025.
New Requirements
Under the new requirements, all voice service providers must block calls purporting to originate from numbers on a reasonable DNO list. Reasonable DNO lists may include invalid numbers, unallocated numbers, unused numbers, and numbers where subscribers have requested blocking for inbound-only use. The FCC declined to mandate a specific DNO list provider, allowing providers to use single or multiple sources based on their network capabilities.
Next Steps
Providers should immediately verify that their DNO blocking procedures are finalized, tested, and operational. Companies that have not yet implemented DNO blocking processes must take urgent action to ensure compliance by December 15.
