Lifeline Waivers Extended to August 31
The FCC has extended the waivers for Lifeline reverification, recertification and de-enrollment activity until August 31, 2020. This waiver also extends the relaxed usage requirements and general de-enrollment procedures until August 31.
At the start of the pandemic in late March 2020, the FCC made it easier for potential Lifeline subscribers to enroll in the program by allowing these subscribers to qualify for Lifeline through income requirements by temporarily waiving the requirement to provide at least three consecutive months of income documentation. The FCC also streamlined Lifeline enrollment for qualifying customers who reside on rural Tribal areas. (See JSI’s April 6 and May 4 e-Lerts for more information.)
