JSI-MD Donates Toys, Coats to Salvation Army Angel Tree Program
The lobby of JSI’s headquarters overflowed with holiday cheer today as the staff in the Maryland office once again participated in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree drive. This is the office’s 10th year collecting toys and warm clothing for a local holiday program, with each year’s donation topping the last. We estimate that JSI donated more than $4,000 in toys and clothing this year.
Bags and boxes poured into the office throughout the beginning of December, filling Denise Banning’s office as pick-up day grew closer. In the end, JSI donated 30 coats, 10 bikes, 43 games, 7 scooters, 35 dolls/action figures, 9 big wheels, 5 shopping carts, dozens of balls, 5 skateboards, and various stuffed animals, craft supplies, baby toys, kites, Star Wars figures, sports equipment, hats, gloves and scarfs.
Salvation Army Lt. Priscilla Ramaji said JSI’s donation will go a long way towards fulfilling the wishes of the 1,249 angels assigned to the Prince George’s County-based corps in 2015. Her corps relies on JSI’s enormous donation to fill in the gaps of the 200 children whose angels weren’t chosen by another business or individual in the community.
Happy holidays from JSI!
