FCC Resumes Form 399 MVPD Incentive Auction Reimbursement Filings
Forms Now Due August 25
Due to technical issues with the Media Bureau’s Licensing and Management System (LMS), some multi-channel video programming distributors (MVPDs) were not able to file initial reimbursement cost estimates on the Form 399 by the original deadline date of July 12, 2017. The filing deadline has been reset for Friday, August 25, 2017, for those MVPDs that have not yet submitted their estimates.
The Form 399 filing is for those MVPDs that may find themselves incurring costs after the FCC moves around broadcast stations upon completion of its “Broadcast Incentive Auction.” MVPDs will be reimbursed for reasonable costs related to these station relocations, but must submit their estimated costs to the FCC via Form 399 by the new August 25 deadline (See our June 20 e-Lert for more details).
As a reminder, to see if your MVPD will be impacted, please review this list of broadcast stations whose channels will be changing. If a station that your system carries is listed, you should reach out to the broadcast station to discuss the changes and any estimated costs of continuing to carry the station’s signal once it moves to the new channel. If you require assistance for searching stations that may affect you, please contact JSI and forward your current copyright filing which depicts your MVPD’s channel lineup.
