FCC Announces June 30, 2025, Deadline for Biennial Study Area Boundary Recertification
FCC Announces June 30, 2025, Deadline for Biennial Study Area Boundary Recertification
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced that incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) and state commissions that have voluntarily agreed to file study area boundary data must submit their biennial recertification by June 30, 2025. This recurring filing requirement ensures the FCC maintains accurate boundary information that impacts various Universal Service Fund support mechanisms.
ILECs and state commissions that have already uploaded and certified new boundaries between December 31, 2024, and March 15, 2025, are exempt from this year’s recertification requirement. For all other providers and certifying state commissions, the June 30 deadline applies and requires completion of the FCC’s two-step verification process.
JSI can assist clients with verifying existing boundary data, submitting mapping corrections, preparing recertification submissions, and ensuring compliance with all FCC requirements. For assistance with these processes or questions about how this requirement impacts your operations, please contact Paul Nesenson or Brett Hallagan.
Remember to add this filing requirement to your TrackNow account to ensure timely submission before the June 30, 2025, deadline.
