JSI-MD Donates Toys, Coats to Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

It’s the most wonderful time of the year as the lobby of JSI’s headquarters overflowed with donations for the local Salvation Army’s Angel Tree toy and coat drive. This is the office’s 11th year collecting toys and warm clothing for a local holiday program and we estimate that JSI donated more than $4,000 in toys and clothing again this year.

The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command’s Angel Tree program assists thousands of parents of children 12 and under in the area provide their families a wonderful Christmas. Applicants face emergency financial hardships, underemployment, or unemployment.

In the end, JSI donated nearly 400 toys, including 7 bicycles, 10 ride-ons/big wheels, 50+ games, 40 dolls/action figures, 25 footballs/soccer balls/basketballs, 5 skateboards, various stuffed animals, craft supplies, baby toys, kites, books, Play-Doh, and much more. The office also donated 15 coats, several pairs of pajamas and sleeping bags.

The Prince George’s County-based Salvation Army corps is hoping to fulfill the wishes of more than 1200 angels assigned to it this year. Salvation Army Captains Pradeep and Priscilla Ramaji rely on JSI’s enormous donation each year to fill in the gaps of the children whose angels weren’t chosen by another business or individual in the community.

Happy holidays from JSI!
