JSI WEBINAR: CHALLENGING BROADBAND STIMULUS APPLICATIONS IN YOUR SERVICE TERRITORY
Update: If you missed Monday's webinar, you can purchase a recording of both the audio and slides for $249. If you are interested, please contact Barbara Thomas at bthomas@jsitel.com or 301-459-7590.
On Sept. 28, the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) published their much-anticipated listings of the Proposed Funded Service areas deriving from the applications for the broadband stimulus program. As a result, existing broadband service providers can now challenge a competitor's eligibility to be awarded government-funded broadband grants, as of Sept. 28, by providing responses to the applications published as "Public Service Filings."
The filings are published on www.broadbandusa.gov, the website established by RUS and NTIA, for the purpose of filing broadband stimulus funding applications. JSI has scheduled a webinar to offer guidance on reviewing the listings posted by RUS and NTIA and filing a response to any application that seeks funding to provide service in your service territory.
The webinar, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (EDT), will include instructions on how to identify whether applications are seeking funding in your company's service area and, if so, how to gather the data and use the mapping tool to submit a response. The cost of the webinar is $249 per company, which includes up to five separate Internet connections per registration - beyond the first five connections, the cost is $50 per connection. Clients interested in the webinar, but unable to attend on Oct. 5, should contact JSI, so that we can make arrangements for you to obtain a recorded version of the webinar. If you are interested in the webinar or would like further assistance with filing a response, please notify Kim Waldvogel (kwaldvogel@jsitel.com) in JSI's Maryland office, at 301-459-7590.
