JSI’s 2018 Management Seminars

During our signature Management Seminars, we provide you with the latest regulatory, financial, management, and technical information to prepare for whatever is coming down the road. And in 2018, with USF reform well underway, we focused on strategic initiatives that will help you replace lost Universal Service funds, provide the services customers need and desire, improve your company’s bottom line, and plan for the network of the future. The 2018 agenda included:

  • Sunset of the access regime
  • Current status of USF and its future outlook
  • Your Consumer Broadband-Only Loop (CBOL) options
  • The federal Tax Reform Act’s impact on ILEC settlements, USF and tariffs
  • Implications associated with 5G deployment
  • Updates on Lifeline, HUBB, Rural Health Care, number portability, and the CAF Phase II auction
  • Benefits of central office switch consolidation
  • The latest Net Neutrality rules and requirements
  • Fashioning a successful out-of-area business plan
  • Infrastructure initiatives in 2018

Learning Objectives:
At the end of the seminar, you will be able to:

  • Determine how the changes to the federal tax laws will affect your business
  • Evaluate if offering stand-alone broadband to your customers will help your bottom line
  • Prepare for the upcoming CAF II auction and NPAC transition
  • Plan for possible expansion beyond your traditional service area
  • Assess if your company should consolidate its CO switches
  • Meet requirements due to changes to federal telecom policies
  • Anticipate other initiatives that might be heading your way

Our seminars, led by some of the industry’s most respected experts, provide you with the in-depth analysis that you’ll need to make the right decisions for your future. We hope you’ll join JSI President Manny Staurulakis, Senior Vice President Steve Meltzer, and Vice Presidents John Kuykendall, Brian Sullivan and Valerie Wimer at one of our future sessions.
