JSI works with clients on all aspects of interconnection, including assessing interconnection requests to determine applicable portions of the Telecom Act and the FCC’s rules. Specifically, JSI assists ILECs in maintaining their rural exemptions, negotiating interconnection agreements with competitive entrants, and investigating competitive opportunities in negotiating interconnection agreements with RBOCs, CLECs, and wireless providers. In negotiating ILEC-wireless interconnection agreements, JSI counsels and advises ILECs in complying with provisions of the Telecom Act and negotiating intra- and inter-modal LNP SLAs and operations agreements.
JSI also works with clients on inter-company agreements, addressing such issues as: renegotiating existing EAS arrangements, interconnecting with competitive entrants operating in adjacent market territories, negotiating terms and conditions for CLEC operations, and coordinating with state associations and regional coalitions on common strategies and positions. JSI also offers assistance in negotiating other agreements as well, including directory listings for published directories and directory assistance, affiliate transactions, billing and collection, network facilities, and ISPs. Finally, JSI can assist ILEC clients in arbitration proceedings.
