All rural LECs participating in meet-point billing arrangements are required to list their information in the FCC NECA Tariff 4. The process of billing originating and terminating access charges continues to be a challenge for community based telecom providers. Tariff 4 is a vital meet-point billing requirement that provides LECs the authority to bill local transport to interexchange carriers (IXCs). It is also a resource that identifies LEC services and facilities available for provisioning purposes.
JSI can help keep your data files updated and maintained. The primary data files in Tariff 4 are:
- Percent Ownership and Billing Percentage (BP) File -- BP updates consist of adding, deleting, and modifying the billing routes filed with the FCC on your behalf.
- Vertical and Horizontal (V&H) Data File -- V&H updates consist of adding, deleting, and modifying company switch information, including NPA-NXX updates, switch CLLI updates, and service-type code updates; e.g., DSL, ISP, etc.
Access billing remains a primary LEC revenue source. Timeliness and accuracy are essential in providing this service. As part of our Tariff 4 services, JSI provides clients with: monthly review of the BP concurrence file, establishing proposed routes or changes, and updating V&H data file.
